For a week following July 29th, some of the local headlines read:

The six inches of rain that fell that night caused the Long family to lose their home, all their belongings, vehicles and business. July 29th was just a normal day of work, school, the comforting thoughts of having everything paid for. Life was good. In one night that was all taken away. Today, Mark & Marilyn, their three children Jason, Dan & Kristi are living in two campers in their backyard. They now need a home. Not just a house, but a home to be together again.
Our first thought was maybe we could contact Extreme Home Makeover to help. We decided that this is a community that always pulls together in the time of need. We know that God has blessed each an everyone of us with their owns special talents and are praying all will use them to help with this project. We would like to build the Long's a new home with the help, love, donations and support of everyone. Whether you know the Long Family or not this is an opportunity for everyone to pull together for a much needed cause.
The following are needed:
Volunteers: Concrete, Framers, Roofers, Drywall, Electricians, Plumbers, Finish Carpenters, Painter, HVAC, Carpet Layer.
We need donations to help cover cost needed to pay for all materials. A bank fund has been set up at Security Savings Bank in Larchwood Iowa.
Most of all, we need prayers for the Long family and for all those who are about to give their time and donations for this project.

The response to the Long Family's needs has been amazing! Thank you
for your willingness to offer household items, furniture, etc. Please fill in
the form below to inform the Family of items you would be willing to
donate to them if they are in need.
IMPORTANT! The family is not taking in any items at this time due to storage limitations. They are asking that you NOT drop off items at their home or at Linwood Wesleyan Church. Please hold onto your item(s) until YOU ARE CONTACTED!
